The Beau Fort Sewing Guild is charted by the Shire to encourage learning and leadership in the fiber arts. The Guild holds regular meetings and is responsible for its own bylaws and officers. Membership in the Sewing Guild does not constitute membership in the Shire of Beau Fort or the SCA, Inc. (In other words, you need not be "from" Beau Fort or a member of the SCA to stitch with us! - so come and enjoy!)
My fellow Beau Fortians,
Last night at the Sewing Guild meeting I was given the honor of serving the Shire as leader of the Sewing Guild. I shall strive to serve you all to the utmost of my abilities.
Several items were discussed and the membership attending came up with several projects for us to enjoy over the next few months.
Of paramount importance the Seneschal has informed me of an outstanding task for the Shire that we have--Shire Fighting Tabards. I would request that anyone having one of the kits to "build a tabard" ( finished or unfinished ) please bring them to the next Populace meeting or any other Shire activity.
Secondly, I would like to schedule monthly Guild meetings on the second Monday at 7:30 pm-- these to be in conjunction with the Cooking Guild as soon as I can work out a schedule with the leader of that august body. Projects for the Shire will be worked on at this meeting.
Additionally I would like to schedule a "Supper 'n Stitchin" open-house meeting/social for the fouth Monday of each month from 6 to 9 pm . This activity will be for members to work on personal projects or for additional Shire projects as needed.
Thirdly, the voting on the bylaws was postponed--we will be discussing some possible changes at the October meeting and will vote in November.
